Deck Foreman

Job Summary:

An Offshore Deck Foreman is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all deck activities associated with the marine construction operation

They can successfully supervise the deck team during operations and will report directly to the Offshore Project Manager when offshore.

The Deck Foreman is also expected to coach and assess members of the deck team and act as a witness during the competence assessment process.

The areas that will be assessed within Deck Foreman Grade include:

Entry Level Specifications:

• Appropriate supervisory experience to be a Deck Foreman demonstrating knowledge of slinging and rigging offshore
• 3 years offshore experience relevant to discipline
• Current and valid survival certificate
• Current and valid medical certificate
• IMCA record of competence at Rigger level
• Record of competence to be Deck Foreman takes cognisance of flag and coastal state requirements at an operational level including demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures

2) Demonstrates the ability to participate in emergency procedures as required on the vessel or installation where operations take place
3) Demonstrates the ability to supervise a Team during all operational activities in a safe and reliable manner
4) Demonstrates the ability to undertake rigging and lifting activities under normal operations
