Grade I Survey Engineer

Job Summary:

A Grade I Survey Engineer is regarded as someone who is conversant with engineering aspects of marine survey operations.

They can successfully participate in the Survey Team during operations and will report directly to the Senior Survey Engineer.

The Grade I Survey Engineer is expected to coach and assess junior members of the Survey Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.

Entry Level Specifications:

• Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Survey Engineer Grade II and be working towards Survey Engineer Grade I
• Nominally 80 days operational experience as a Survey Engineer Grade II
• Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
• Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed

5) The ability to operate ancillary survey equipment

7) The ability to mobilise on/offline systems
8) The ability to install and configure technical software packages
9) The ability to use technical online software packages
10) The ability to interpret datums and projections
11) The ability to use tidal and water column parameters within the survey system/project
12) The ability to interpret data quality criteria and use an onboard data management system and use an onboard data management system
13) The ability to undertake routine administrative tasks and keep online logs
