Geotechnical Party Chief

Job Summary:

A Party Chief is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all aspects of geotechnical marine survey operations.

They can successfully lead and manage the Geotechnical Field Project Team during operations and will report directly to the Project Manager.

The Party Chief is expected to coach and assess members of the Geotechnical Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.

The Party Chief is responsible for ensuring that the overall aims of the project are achieved, to ensure health and safety requirements are met and reported, to liaise with the offshore and onshore client and company teams, and to manage the offshore team.

Entry Level Specifications:

  • Satisfactory completion of competence criteria and about 300 operational days experience and 15 mobilisations in the role, for at least one of the following: Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Field), Senior Operator
  • Satisfactory completion of competence criteria for at least one of the following (but not the same skill as used above): Grade I Geotechnical Engineer (Field), Grade I Operator
  • Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
  • Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
