Grade II Pipeline Inspection Engineer

Job Summary:

A Grade II Pipeline Inspection Engineer is regarded as someone who works within the Survey Team during pipeline survey operations.

They can successfully participate under supervision, in the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the Senior Surveyor/Pipeline Inspection Engineer.

The Grade Pipeline Inspection Engineer is expected to participate in the Competence Management Programme.

Entry Level Specifications:

• Qualification in an appropriate survey related subject. Minimum level HNC/HND or appropriate technical/military experience and qualifications
• Good standard of IT literacy/Team player/Good communication skills
• Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
• Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed

The following competencies will be assessed through performance criteria:

1) The ability to use technical online software packages
2) The ability to set up and calibrate equipment used in pipeline surveys
3) The ability to perform data acquisition activites and interpret data quality criteria
4) The ability to use processing programs, follow procedures and interpret pipeline survey data
5) The ability to implement an onboard data management system
6) The ability to recognise standard structural features of subsea pipelines, flowlines, power cables and umbilicals
