Dive Technician (Mechanical)

Job Summary:

A Dive Technician (Mechanical) is regarded as someone who is conversant with the mechanical systems of diving equipment associated with subsea marine operations.

They can participate in the Dive Technical Team during operations and will report directly to the Dive Technician Supervisor when offshore.

The Dive Technician (Mechanical) is expected to take part in the competence assessment process.

Entry Level Specifications:

  • Prior knowledge, skills and experience of mechanical/hydraulic engineering gained through either:
    • Trade qualification or
    • Advanced academic education or
    • Military training/qualification
    • Extensive experience in previous employment
  • Current and valid survival certificate
  • Current and valid medical certificate
  • Complete employing company familiarisation course

6) The ability to demonstrate correct application of pipe work, valves and fittings within dive systems and recognise environmental, safety and material limitation factors PDF Icon PDF Icon
7) The ability to carry out gas purity tests, record results and take appropriate action as dictated by results PDF Icon PDF Icon
8) The ability to fully understand the dive system chamber configuration and the ancillary equipment required to maintain the correct environment for a divers well being PDF Icon PDF Icon
9) The ability to undertake planned maintenance and fault finding activities on industry standard divers' hats PDF Icon PDF Icon
