Party Chief

A Survey Party Chief is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all aspects of marine survey operations.

They can successfully lead and manage the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the project manager.

The Survey Party Chief is expected to coach and assess members of the Survey Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.

Satisfactory completion of competence criteria and about 400 operational days experience in the role, for at least one of the following:
- Senior surveyor
- Senior survey engineer
- Senior data processor
Satisfactory completion of competence criteria for at least one of the following (but not the same skill as used above):
- Grade I surveyor
- Grade I survey engineer
- Grade I data processor
Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
